2011 Domestic Box Office Report

With the dropping of the ball and the changing of the year once again, we take a look at the domestic box office grosses of Paramount Pictures releases for 2011.

Paramount took the number two spot with the third installment of the Transformers franchise while Marvel blockbusters Thor and Captain America were next in line. Dreamworks Animations films were next on the list with both Po and Puss taking the fourth and fifth spots in Paramount's list.

Worldwide grosses saw Transformers also come in second place behind the final Harry Potter film. Dark of the Moon took in $1.12 billion at the worldwide box office. Kung Fu Panda 2 was the fourth highest grossing film of 2011 globally, generating $665.7 million in revenue.

Some things to look at are the performance of one of the recent releases. With The Adventures of Tintin only a few short weeks out of the gate its rank in the domestic tally is on the low side. When the rest of the world is taken into account, you can see a whole other positive life.
